'Sun of Hope' received an additional VND 3 billion sponsor from KBC

The program to support children with cancer "Sun of Hope" has just received VND 3 billion from KinhBac City Development Holding Corporation (KBC).

A part of this donation is used to cover the expenses of cancer treatment for children with difficult circumstances, who are being treated at Hope fund's partner hospitals, including Vietnam National Children's Hospital,National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion, DaNang Hospital for women and children, Hue Central Hospital, Children's Hospital 2, Oncology Hospital (Ho Chi Minh City) etc. The rest is for mental supporting activities for the children and public awareness raising of the issues of disadvantaged children.

This is the second time KBC joined hands with activities of the Sun of Hope program. The program, implemented by the Hope Foundation from March 2021, aims to provide children with cancer the opportunity to live healthier lives, thanks to the early access to medical and technological advances in disease treatment.

Representative for leaders of KBC said that for many years, KBC has always been active in social work and community activities with an annual budget of up to billions dong.

"In the first months of the new year 2022, besides a series of activities to support the prevention of Covid-19 in localities, we have chosen the 'Sun of Hope' program to accompany children with cancer and other disadvantaged children. When being detected and treated at the 'golden stage', children with cancer are given the opportunity to return to their normal life. All the things we do is for a single purpose: to contribute as soon as possible, as much as possible, to give life to the children - the future generation of our country", said by a representative of KBC.

In 2021, the Sun of Hope program contributed a total budget of more than VND 9 billion for nearly 250 pediatric cancer patients across the country, of which 19 cases were helped with stem cell transplants. Many children have recovered with stable health, only need to be monitored and periodically re-examined, such as Hoang Thi Linh Nhi (bone cancer) in Vung Tau, Tran Huyen Khanh Linh (blood cancer) in Lam Dong, etc.

In addition to financial support, the Sun of Hope program has also implemented emotional support activities for pediatric cancer patients and disadvantaged children in recent years, such as "Happy Mid-Autumn Festival" - visiting and giving gifts to 300 children with blood diseases at the Central Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion, the painting and literary contest “For one Vietnam surely win”. The contest attracted more than 1,500 children across the country, creating a meaningful playground for them during the period of social distancing when they could not go to school or receive treatment.

The Sun program was formerly known as Mr.Sun program founded by Mr. Minh Nhan, which was born thanks to the resources from Vietnamese leaders and the medical community, who shared the same concerns about cancer treatment for children. Through financial support and psychological relief for pediatric cancer patients and their families, the program hopes to reduce childhood cancer mortality in Vietnam.
